Linen
- Separate Colors: Separate dark and light-colored garments to prevent color bleeding during the wash.
- Maximize Wear Between Washes: Linen clothes don't need frequent washing. Instead, hang them up to air out between wears to keep them fresh.
- Gentle Machine or Hand Wash: When it's time to wash, opt for a gentle machine cycle with a low spin at a cold setting. High temperatures can weaken fibers and affect colors. For hand washing, use cold or lukewarm water for rinsing.
- Air Dry for Best Results: Always air-dry linen pieces to preserve their quality. Avoid tumble drying, which can shrink or damage the fibers.
- Handle with Care: Use sturdy hangers that won't leave impressions or stretch the fabric. Avoid thin wire hangers and clips that could distort the shape, especially around the shoulders.
- Combat Creases Naturally: Linen can crease easily. Hang garments in a steamy bathroom while you shower to naturally release wrinkles using the steam.
